Years in the Golden Isles: 22

Occupation: Associate broker at Jekyll Realty
Favorite things to do in your free time: Wandering around Jekyll’s golf courses and playing with my toddler Tate.
How did you become interested in real estate?
After finishing my MBA, opportunities were limited following the economic downturn in 2008. An opportunity to come home as part of the property management team at Jekyll Realty came up in 2010. Once I got started, it was a great fit in one of the best places in the world. I earned my salesperson’s license in 2012 and my broker’s license in 2016.
In your opinion, what do you think are some selling points for homes on Jekyll Island? Jekyll Island is unlike anywhere else I’ve ever been. The nature, wildlife and quiet beaches blew me away on my first visit in the mid-90s. It is somewhere anyone can go to disconnect from the busy world, while still being less than an hour from anything you could possibly want or need.
What is one thing every visitor must do before leaving the Golden Isles? Get to Driftwood Beach at low tide one morning and watch the sunrise behind the shrimp boats over the Atlantic.
What is some of the best advice you have received over the years? My uncle told me as I was moving to Georgia to own who you are and be who you want to be. You alone control how you respond to new challenges and opportunities.
