What piqued your interest in real estate? Since I’m a little over halfway through my career as a teacher, I began thinking about a post-teaching career. Upon thinking, I realized that with my business background, my love of people, and my interest in real estate, becoming a Realtor would be the most natural and best fit for me. I must admit that I am truly learning from, growing with, and enjoying every step of this real estate journey that I have embarked. I am truly blessed to be working for the best brokerage in Glynn County, Duckworth Properties.
What attributes do you think make a good Realtor? Some of the attributes that I believe make a good Realtor are: having great listening skills, enjoying working with different people, finding delight in educating people on the process of buying and selling a home, having patience and encouraging your clients to be patient, reassuring the buyer that the perfect house for them is coming, being truly vested in the process with each client, listening to each person’s vision and turning that vision into reality.
As a native of the Golden Isles, what is something you have learned here that has made you successful today? One thing I have learned as a native of the Golden Isles is, “Be Great Wherever You Are!” Growing up in the Golden Isles, I have served and worked in many different capacities. I spent my teenage years working for the City of Brunswick’s youth camps. After graduating from college and returning to the Golden Isles, I began working for the Glynn County School System. Although I have held several positions within the school system, the one thing that has always remained constant in my work performance is, I have always given my best. Finally, as I embark on my second career in real estate and work diligently to become a successful Realtor, I intend to approach every part of this journey that I have embarked on with the same mindset and motto that I approach every part of my life with, “Be Great Wherever You Are!”
A local you admire: Selecting just one local who I admire is difficult because so many local individuals have contributed to both my personal and professional growth, therefore, I admire more than one local. The first two locals I admire are my parents, James and Luretha Moran. I admire them because they have taught me diligence, compassion and hard work, which are qualities that I incorporate into every part of my life. Another local I admire is LeAnn Duckworth, the owner and broker of Duckworth Properties. I admire her, because not only has she created a successful brokerage firm in Glynn County, but she has given me the opportunity to start and develop my real estate career under her tenured knowledge and guidance. Lastly, I admire many local women and men of God. I admire these individuals because they are always praying for me, developing in me the framework of faith and teaching me how to trust and believe in God.
Describe the perfect Saturday spent in the Golden Isles: A perfect Saturday would entail me doing the following three things. First, I would go into downtown Brunswick to have brunch with friends at Reid’s Apothecary. Second, I would go to Jekyll Island to do some seining with the family. Finally, I would spend the evening cooking and eating the seafood caught that day.
