Kate Danowski

DeLoach Sotheby’s International Realty

Family: Husband, Brad Danowski, three sons, Cope, Will and Smith Danowski, and parents, Jane and Jim Watson.

Years in the Golden Isles: My whole life … I’m a native of St. Simons Island, born and raised here. I moved back not long after graduating from college.

School: Sewanee

Occupation: Real Estate Agent with DeLoach Sotheby’s International Realty

Favorite landmark in the Golden Isles: Christ Church is one of my favorite places. It’s where I was baptized, grew up going to church every Sunday, and where Brad and I got married. It’s a special place to me, and one of the prettiest places on St. Simons.

A local you admire: My dad, Jim Watson. He has more energy than anyone I know, and he has always told me “If you love what you do, then you will never work a day in your life.” He truly lives that philosophy and loves what he does. He puts his family and his faith first, and he is always trying to better himself, which inspires me to do the same. He and my mom are about to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary, and they have been a wonderful example to my brothers and me.

Who or what inspired you to become a Realtor: I grew up with real estate and property as a topic of conversation around our family dinner table. My parents, two older brothers, and I have always had an interest in different types of real estate, and I’ve done work in commercial real estate, property management and residential sales. It’s something I’ve always enjoyed and had an interest in.

What is your favorite part of raising kids in the Golden Isles? I love that my children can experience and enjoy the outdoors most every day. We also live next door to my best friend since fifth grade, and it makes me so happy that our kids get to grow up as best friends. We have lots of neighborhood friends and I love having the kids riding bikes and going from yard to yard and playing together.

Tell us one thing you do that is crucial to your work-life balance: My mornings at Omcore Yoga + Body are the most important thing for me to maintain work-life/family balance. With three young boys to raise, I have to have the energy to keep up with them, so taking care of myself is really important. I also get to see some of my closest friends at Omcore in the mornings, which is another reason I love going!

What is a selling point for buying a home in the Golden Isles? The lifestyle we have here is unbeatable. We enjoy a quality of life here that few places have, and we have such a wonderful community.

Describe a perfect Saturday for you in the Golden Isles: A sunny day on the boat or at the beach with my family. We pick up sandwiches or Southern Soul chicken salad and spend the day outside playing with the kids.
