Years in the Golden Isles: 10 marvelous years!

School: Southwestern Community College

Occupation: Real estate broker at Deloach Sotheby’s International Realty

Favorite landmark in the Golden Isles: Cannon’s Point Preserve hands down. It’s located on the north end of St Simons Island. My husband and I enjoy hiking to the end of the point. After taking in the wildlife and tabby ruins, you reach the end and have an amazing view of the salt marsh. It truly captures all the natural beauty the island offers.

Who or what inspired you to become a Realtor? My mother-in-law owned and operated a real estate brokerage for many years in North Carolina. Her passion for the business inspired me and now, 20 years later, I am still enjoying it!

What is a selling point for buying a home in the Golden Isles?

It’s something that is rare to find. It’s that small town feeling and sense of community. Everyone knows one another, is friendly and takes an interest in each other. I also think its location and closeness to other major cities like Savannah and Jacksonville is an advantage.

What is your favorite time of year in the Golden Isles? Summertime! There is always something to do. Whether spending time on the beach with family and friends or exploring the locally owned shops. When spending time in the Golden Isles, there is never a dull moment.

Tell us about your favorite thing to do in your spare time: Anything outdoors. I enjoy taking my kayak out on the rivers or taking my stand-up paddle board out on the ocean. St. Simons offers so much in the way of outdoor activities.
