Banker Real Estate

Years in the Golden Isles: 41 + years – My family moved here from Billings, Mont., in 1978, when I was 8. Occupation: Father, husband, Christian and real estate agent. Who or what inspired you to become a Realtor: I have always owned my own businesses and dabbled in real estate and development on the side. After doing so for 20-plus years, I decided to embrace my side interest full time and became a Realtor in late 2014. Since that time, I have worked with hundreds of clients and have been fortunate to close more than $100,000,000 in sales. I am a relationships person and I also love the art of the deal. Combine that with my knowledge of the Golden Isles, and it makes real estate sales for me a natural fit because it’s a perfect marriage of those skill sets. Describe a hobby you enjoy away from work: I like to be available to my clients to offer them personal attention and white glove service so I work almost 24/7, but I love what I do so I don’t mind it at all! As the father to three sons and one daughter – my oldest son is a sophomore at Yale University, followed by a 10th grade son and a ninth grade son, both at Glynn Academy, and an eighth grade daughter at Glynn Middle, they keep me very busy when I’m not working. My hobbies have somewhat fallen to the wayside. But when I do get the occasional day off or free afternoon, I love to play golf. I played in high school for Glynn Academy – and it’s still one of my favorite ways to spend a day. I also love to travel with my family. A local you admire: I have many but two that are at the top of my list are: Wright Culpepper, who is the director of FaithWorks and our former pastor. He has been more inspirational than he’ll ever know to so many people in our community. The FaithWorks organization truly serves as the hands and feet of Christ for the less fortunate in our community. And my wife, Whitney. I count my blessings every night that she said “yes.” She is the best mother, wife and best friend I could have ever dreamed of marrying. She is truly the definition of “my better half.” Favorite local causes you support and why: There are a few my wife Whitney and I love to support that include FaithWorks, Safe Harbor Children’s Shelter and The Gathering Place. These are all Glynn county-born charities working directly in our community. What makes the Golden Isles a unique place to do real estate? Having lived here over 40 years, I have a unique, big picture view and insight into the Golden Isles and what makes this area so special and desirable. It’s been amazing to watch what was once a sleepy coastal town become known around the world. I really love sharing that with my local clients, as well as clients from all across the country like Connecticut, California, New York, Texas, etc. They visit, they fall in love with this area and become property owners and most get involved in the community.
