Family: Family is an integral part of what drives me. I’m proud to say my daughter, Hannah, is an associate broker with us at Duckworth Properties and expecting our first grandchild, and my son, Will, is 22 and working to get his real estate license to one day also join the Duckworth team. Our family also includes our 18 real estate agents and three assistants. Although we are a small company, Duckworth Properties means everything to us and we are dedicated to serving this community with honesty, integrity and professionalism. We start that mission by having only the best here at Duckworth Properties to serve the Golden Isles.Years in the Golden Isles: I have been in this area for over 43 years; there is nowhere else on Earth that offers the same level of hospitality and warmth as the Golden Isles. Who or what inspired you to become a Realtor: My family owned a piece of property that was prime for developing; I acquired my real estate license to help sell the property, and it quickly became a passion of mine. I’ve built on that experience over the last 32 years and have loved every minute of it. Describe a hobby you enjoy away from work: I enjoy boating, fishing, going to the beach, traveling and shopping with my friends when I have down time, while I love my career it’s important to have a good work/life balance. Living in the Golden Isles has given me the chance to do all the things I love. A local you admire: Michelle Buchanan was one of our Duckworth Divas who bravely faced cancer; she gained her wings Aug. 26, 2018. She was a shining light in our office and I had the pleasure and honor of working side-by-side with this young lady since October 2016. Michelle was a very hard-working sales agent in our industry, but more importantly, she sold herself to the duty and service for others in our community. Favorite local causes you support: Morningstar is an organization I support and love; it connects kids with brighter days. I love kids and it gives me the opportunity to connect and meet them at their needs. Our office also supports and promotes Habitat for Humanity here in the Golden Isles – you’ll find our Duck Divas on the grounds side-by-side with our community giving back to the community who has given us so much. I am also a member of Sterling Church of God where I am a member of the praise team. What makes the Golden Isles a unique place to live: It’s quaint, it’s not as touristy as most places and has the perfect balance of tourism and locals, I also love how homey it is here and how it still has it’s laid back southern charm in a world of fast paced living. Describe the local market right now: It is very steady, there is a drive for new construction inventory to be built, and I feel like as soon as we have one available it’s sold. Inventory is short, making it a perfect seller’s market – if you ever were thinking about listing, now is the time.
