Name: Henrietta”Hank” Palacio

Family: Mother of three grown children, Tracy, Lauren and Frank. Grandmother to four grown children, two boys and two girls. Great-grandmother to two cherubs, Livy, a girl, 12, and Hendrix, a boy, 11.

Years in the Golden Isles: I moved here from suburban Philadelphia, in June 1988, and loving it ever since.

Schools: Radnor High School Class of ‘58, in Wayne, Pa. Vermont College, for two years, A.S. degree, and Drexel University, B.S. degree.

Occupation: I have been a Realtor since 1976 beginning my career in suburban Philadelphia in the Downingtown/Exton area. I moved to this beautiful island and earned my license here in 1989, and first worked at the new north end development of Hampton Plantation. With two more changes, I found my home with Sea Palms Coastal Realty LLC some 14 happy years ago and never looked back.

Favorite landmark in the Golden Isles: Most of all I like the beach, if that can be called a landmark. I walk to the beach and back several times a week and it is always a different beautiful walk. The wildlife and changes of the sun and clouds is what begins my day.

Favorite holiday tradition: Gathering family, friends and extended family for our Christmas breakfast (brunch) is the best time of the year. We never know how many will come and that is good.

Who or what inspired you to pursue a career in real estate? At the time I wanted an activity outside the home that would allow me to be home when my children returned from school. Also, my husband was starting a building and development business, making this a good fit.

What advice do you have for a buyer interested in the Golden Isles? So many folks come here from a work situation, changing jobs or retiring. I would urge them to try a vacation or two here. Summer for sure to see if they like the beach, etc. and maybe fall to enjoy the change in tides, winds and sun. And of course, If all this is good they should call me. I love to show off this island.

Goals for year 2022: I plan to stay active and knowledgeable on all levels of my business. This is a fast-moving market requiring a lot of “hustle.” I am looking forward to meeting new buyers, old and new sellers, and together, achieving our goals. It is truly a happy time to do what I do.
