Can you tell me about your family? My mother Jenny Whalen Lee is from St. Simons. She moved back after graduating from Ole Miss where she met and married my dad, Jeb Crawford. Shortly after, they moved to Crested Butte, Colo., where I was born. A few years later my mom and I moved back to St. Simons, and my dad returned to his hometown in LaGrange. They both remarried to my amazing stepparents, JJ Lee and Kennon Crawford, whom I’m grateful for every day. I have three brothers. Wynn and Whalen Lee are twins. They live in St. Simons, and they’re baseball stars who keep me entertained daily. My brother Holden lives in LaGrange. He’s the linebacker at his local high school and is smart as a whip.
How many years have you lived in the Golden Isles? I moved to St. Simons at the age of 3, left in 2018 for college and returned in 2021.
What is your educational background? I attended Frederica Academy for middle school and graduated from Glynn Academy in 2018. I graduated three years later from Ole Miss in 2021 with a hospitality management and business degree.
How long have you worked in real estate? I began at DeLoach Sotheby’s International Realty in January as an assistant to Realtor Adair Allen. I got my real estate license in July and became a Realtor for Sotheby’s.
What brought you to a career in real estate? I wanted to have the freedom to set my own schedule, have the pleasure to work from my office or home, and help people daily with a huge milestone in their lives. From starting my experience in the hospitality industry in high school as a waitress, I watched and learned from the way Forrest Brown (owner of Brogen’s) treated his employees and customers with the highest respect and loyalty. From working with Beachview Event Rentals as an assistant to Elizabeth and Leigh Veal, I have learned how to be organized, time-oriented and efficient. As I continue to watch and learn from Realtor Adair Allen, I am always learning new marketing strategies, how to communicate properly and how to turn leads to listings to closings effectively. Our local professionals have cultivated me throughout my journey to become the professional I am today.
What is your favorite landmark in the Golden Isles? The beach is my favorite part about where I live. I have lived in Mississippi and Tennessee, and although I enjoyed both of those amazing experiences, I missed being able to go to the beach whenever I pleased, watching the sunrise and sunsets along the coast, and the salt air.
What advice would you give to someone looking to buy a home in the Golden Isles? Find a real estate agent that you trust and are able to work well with. Meet with multiple agents to find the one that fits you and your needs best. Always make a list of the things you want in your future home from top priority to lowest priority. Go into the home-buying process with an open mind. If you only have one dream home in mind it can lead to a disappointing experience and may blind you to all the other beautiful options within your budget.
