Hospice of the Golden Isles recently announced that its long-time CEO, Karen Brubaker Miller, has resigned from her post. She joined HGI as its head in 2007. She has relocated to Roanoke, Va., to take a senior leadership position at a nonprofit hospice, and will join her husband, Mark, who relocated to Virginia earlier this year after accepting a new position of his own.

Miller is confident that HGI will continue to thrive and carry out its mission for decades to come.

“We are sad to see Karen go,” said HGI Board President, the Rev. Tom Purdy. “We truly appreciate her leadership and her legacy at Hospice of the Golden Isles. We wish all the best for Karen and Mark as they start a new chapter of their lives in Roanoke. Our board of directors is seeking an interim CEO and is confident that our talented and dedicated hospice team will continue to provide wonderful care for our patients and their families.”
