“You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown,” (Revised), a musical by Clark Gesner based on the “Peanuts” comic strip by Charles M. Schulz, will be performed by The Island Players at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 22-24 and 29 and Oct. 1 and 3 p.m. Sept. 18 and 25 and Oct. 2 at the St. Simons Casino Theatre, 530 Beachview Drive, St. Simons Island. Business After Hours, sponsored by the Brunswick-Golden Isles Chamber of Commerce, will be held from 5-7 p.m. at PrimeSouth Bank, 1795 Frederica Road, St. Simons Island. Bring plenty of business cards to this fun, monthly networking event. Admission is $7 for chamber members and $20 for non-members.

Sept. 23

Abstract Gallery opening will be held from 5-7 p.m. at the Artists Annex, 100 Sylvan Drive, Suite 170, on St. Simons Island. The newly remodeled gallery represents the work of Suzanne Clements, Suzy Dmetruk, Marden Headley, Joan Konkel and Judith Kudlow and sculpture by Syd Summerhill. The Artist’s Annex will continue to host workshops by nationally known instructors and private lessons by Marden Headley and Sherry Egger. Artists will be in attendance. Free to the public.

Rani Gatner Gallery Opening, will be from 5-7 p.m. at Anderson Fine Art Gallery, 3309 Frederica Road, on St. Simons Island. Free.

American Cancer Society Victory Board Gala of Hope will begin at 7 p.m. at Forbes Farm, on Lawrence Road, St. Simons Island. This black-tie event will feature a strolling reception catered by Dorothy’s, dinner by Halyards and dessert by Crabdaddy’s. Tickets for the evening are $200 and include an open bar and beer donated by Barrier Island Brewing. Musical entertainment will be Who Rescued Who, a band from Jacksonville. Live and silent auctions and a diamond raffle, courtesy of Chadwick’s Jewelers, will round out the event. Proceeds will benefit Hope Lodge, in Jacksonville. Golden Isles Alzheimer’s Walk will begin at 9 a.m. in Neptune Park, on the ocean side of the casino building. This event will help raise money for Alzheimer’s and dementia research and support services for local residents. Details: gaalz.org.

CoastFest, hosted by the Coastal Resources Division of the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Mary Ross Waterfront Park.

Firebox BBQ on the Bluff to benefit the Firebox Initiative, will be from 5-9 p.m. at Gascoigne Bluff, on St. Simons Island. Wines of the World and Coastal Cuisine 2022 to benefit St. Francis Xavier Catholic School, will be held from 6:30-8:30 p.m. in the parish hall of St. William Catholic Church, St. Simons Island. Local chefs will serve their fare with wine and beverages presented by local sommeliers. Tickets will be available at St. Francis Xavier Catholic School and the church office. Opening night for The Coastal Symphony of Georgia’s 40th Anniversary Season will begin at 8 p.m. at the Brunswick High School Auditorium, 3885 Altama Ave., in Brunswick, under the leadership of musical director Michelle Merrill. The concert will feature selections from Dvorak, Piston and Beach.
