Years in the Golden Isles: I was blessed to be born here, 45 years!
Occupation: Physical Therapy Assistant for Southeast Georgia Health System.
A local you admire and why: I actually have two! My dad and my brother, David O’Quinn. Both are great family men who also grew up here. They both have a love for their community and are strong men of faith. Both my dad and brother have set an example not only for me but our entire family.
What is your favorite landmark? The Pier. As a child I grew up by the pier playing, fishing and crabbing. My favorite thing now is watching the sunset from the Pier.
What is one thing every visitor must do before leaving the Golden Isles? The list is actually endless. Paddle boarding in Gould’s Inlet, crabbing and fishing off the Pier or taking one of our many sightseeing tours both on land and water. We have a number of historical landmarks too, such as Fort Frederica, the Lighthouse Christ Church and World War II Museum at Coast Guard Beach. There are so many must dos when you visit the Golden Isles!
What are you looking forward to in 2020? Honestly, I feel so blessed to be living in such a place. For me, it is simply to enjoy my family and friends and to continue to take in all of the beauty and activities that the Golden Isles has to offer.
Describe a perfect Saturday in the Golden Isles: I love getting up in the morning and starting the day with a walk on the beach. Then having brunch at either Sandcastle or Palmer’s in the Village. After that, taking our golf cart down to the beach with my husband and meeting our friends to soak up the sun and take in the local scenery. I would end the day either at our home grilling out or grabbing dinner at Crabdaddy’s, one of our favorite spots.
