St. Simons Rotary recently awarded grants to 10 Glynn County nonprofit organizations. The many grant requests received were reviewed by the St. Simons Rotary Grant Committee for each project’s focus on child and family health, education, child safety and family welfare. The grant awards ranged from providing medical supplies for sexual assault victims, swim camps for youth with disabilities, Pack ‘n Plays to provide infants safe sleeping conditions, laptops for career coaching and grief workbooks to support children who have suffered the loss of a loved one. Organizations receiving grant awards included the Coastal Coalition for Children, Girls on the Run of the Golden Isles, Glynn County 4-H, Golden Isles Arts & Humanities, Golden Isles Live, Hospice of the Golden Isles, House of Hope Refuge of Love, Safe Harbor, Social Opportunities & Active Recreation (SOAR), and the STAR Foundation.
These grants were made possible through the community’s generous support of St. Simons Rotary fundraisers such as RSM “Meet the Pros” and the Valentine’s Day/Mother’s Day rose sale.
