This year, members of the Coastal Photographers Guild are celebrating the 12th anniversary of The Big Photo Show, an annual event that takes place each summer. For the anniversary celebration, the show, or portions of it, will be on exhibit in three locations throughout the Glynn County.

The Big Photo Show formally begins with an opening reception from 5-7 p.m. June 27, although the exhibit will officially open June 25 and remain up until Aug. 2 at Glynn Visual Arts Center, 106 Island Drive, St. Simons Island.

Guests at the June 27 reception, during which refreshments will be served, will vote for the Peoples’ Choice Award, which will be announced at 6:15 p.m. Prints will be priced for sale, and a portion of each sale benefits Glynn Visual Arts.

The gallery is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays.

Beginning June 25, photography aficionados will have an opportunity to see the “Best of the Best,” an exhibit of many of the the top, winning photographs from past Big Photo Shows. This exhibit will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays and noon to 5 p.m. Sundays at the Golden Isles Welcome Center, 529 Beachview Drive, St. Simons Island.

Coastal Photographers Guild members have a common purpose of learning and having fun. The results of this goal are presented at The Big Photo Show. Regular meetings are scheduled for the third Thursday of each month. Check the CPG website for program details at: coastalphotographersguild.com, or call 912-638-8770.
